Winter beanies hand spun, designed & hand knitted by Sue at Wool & Cotton Road.

Perfect for the Snow and Hiking as the lanolin left in the fleece when washed creates warmth and a degree of water proofing.

Sustainable luxury gift idea - all beanies are sent with a photo of the sheep who has grown their fleece for our pleasure.

The fleece is prepared for spinning in a way that allows the lanolin to remain. The fleece is then spun and knitted.

This fleece is from Corriedale x Romney Marsh x Finn sheep lovingly cared for by family.

Each beanie is unique, fleeces change, they are hand spun, only the design remains.

The beanie can be worn either head hugging or as a slouchy depending on the size you choose.

The band is designed to be worn either down or folded up.

    Beanies available:
    Large - Sammy (dark grey/brown)
    Medium - Sammy (dark grey/brown)

    Sizing:
    Small - approximately 48 - 52cm / 19 - 20.5 inches

Head sizes vary enormously. If you are unsure of the size please measure the circumference just above the ears and across the forehead. I am more than happy to assist if in doubt.

    Care:
    Australian Romney Finn wool:

Hand washing is EASY and much quicker than a washing machine.

    1. Prepare a tub of warm water and mix in a mild soap product or use a laundry product recommended for wool.
    2. Examine for dirty spots and wash these areas first. A gentle finger rub will remove most spots and cause no harm to the wool.
    3. Immerse the beanie and gently squeeze the suds through.

AVOID TENSION - Do not dunk up and down in the water. Gently squeeze out as much water as possible.
RINSE - In warm water, squeeze and spin dry on gentle wool setting (a lettuce spinner is great for removing excess water).
Roll in a towel and leave to allow excess moisture to be drawn off.
    Lie flat to dry.
